Created entirely by hand, this naked raku ceramic pet urn has a unique black and white pattern. Black spots, floppy black ears, black whiskers and blue birds finish this delightful dog. While the clay is still wet and prior to firing, high temperature wire is inserted into each bird. After the dog and birds are fired, the birds are inserted, via the wire, into small holes in the dog, making the birds independent so they can be moved and removed at will. Detachable, the tail is constructed with a flange that “sets” the tail when inserted. Small mementos and remains are inserted through the tail opening. The birds and tail can be permanently affixed if desired.
