This Is Us was normally sneaky when revealing that Jack was no longer alive by making fans think, along with Toby (Chris Sullivan), that Kate (Chrissy Metz) was watching football alone. But we come to find out that Kate was cheering for her favorite football team right next to her father, or at least his ashes. And that is how Toby, along with all of the fans, was introduced to the urn that contains Jack’s ashes.

Our Dignity Urn is a fitting tribute to the “Jack” in your family.

John Goodman is Walter Sobchak in The Big Lebowski which is one of the most memorable and quotable cult films in cinema history. The scene where Walter scatters the ashes of his newly-deceased bowling teammate Donny is an incredible one. The ashes are in a Folgers coffee can because the cost of an urn was too dear. The small two-person funeral was ruined when Walter detours into his own Vietnam War shell-shock and ends up scattering the ashes all over the other guest at the funeral, Jeffrey “The Dude” Lebowski. If they had seen our bowling ball urn, the funeral guests would have been saved a cleaning bill.

This iconic film moment sticks with you. You are finally at a point in the movie where you really like Brooks and understand his frustration at not knowing what normal life is. He carves “Brooks was here” into a wood beam in his apartment before hanging himself. It is a statement about how easy it is for folks to become “institutionalized,” so dependent on the structure of a prison or a hospital that they find it impossible to function on the outside. Near the end of the movie, Red embraces a life worth living and celebrating and adds “SO WAS RED” to the carving. It’s an inspirational tribute to his dear friend Brooks.

In this movie, Drew is tasked with taking one final trip with his father, well, his father’s urn. He is given a map with special stops to make along the way. Drew spreads his father’s ashes at memorable sites until reaching a farmer’s market. This is where a series of events gives him a choice to either follow the map home or follow a new direction.

The funeral of Albus Dumbledore was a big event that was held at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. All lessons at Hogwarts were suspended and all examinations were postponed. Almost every student was present, as were all Professors, excluding Severus Snape, and dress robes were worn. It was quite the memorial.

Why not have a Jedi funeral? Jedi’s were typically cremated on a funeral pyre after their death. While having a funeral pyre might be a little too intense for friends and family or might be against health and safety codes in your area, you can always opt for cremation and have the Funeral Theme played at your memorial service, and a pyre hand-painted on a memorial urn.
